چکیده

This paper focuses on facilitating ECG-measurements in our daily life. When measuring ambulatory ECG, the trade-off between signal quality and sensor comfort is obvious. Unobtrusive measurement systems do not achieve the same level of signal quality as systems using conventional wet ECG electrodes. To enable automatic ECG analyses, a continuous appraisal of the signal quality is essential. The presented work describes a method to transform the problem of appraising the quality of an ECG signal into a two-class classification problem. We therefore define an appropriate quality label and train a logistic regression model to predict the signal quality of an ECG signal. We show the working principle using a contactless ECG system incorporated into an airplane seat. The system is evaluated with twelve subjects performing airplane passenger activities. A correct signal quality appraisal rate of 92% is achieved in a leave-one-person-out cross-validation.

UnoViS: the MedIT public unobtrusive vital signs database

While PhysioNet is a large database for standard clinical vital signs measurements, such a database does not exist for unobtrusively measured signals. This inhibits progress in the vital area of signal processing for unobtrusive medical monitoring as not everybody owns the specific measurement systems to acquire signals. Furthermore, if no common database exists, a comparison between different ...

Integrated Sensors for Wireless Non-contact Cardiac and Neural (ECG/EEG) Monitoring – TATRC Grand Challenge

Wearable, unobtrusive physiological and cognitive monitoring systems have significant potential for increasing the effectiveness of military and civilian medical care by providing real-time and continuous data for key vital signs. To date, however, such systems have been constrained by the need for extensive subject preparation along with the discomfort and inconvenience of skin-adhesive electr...

Evaluation of a Multichannel Non-Contact ECG System and Signal Quality Algorithms for Sleep Apnea Detection and Monitoring

Sleep-related conditions require high-cost and low-comfort diagnosis at the hospital during one night or longer. To overcome this situation, this work aims to evaluate an unobtrusive monitoring technique for sleep apnea. This paper presents, for the first time, the evaluation of contactless capacitively-coupled electrocardiography (ccECG) signals for the extraction of sleep apnea features, toge...
